Position: Solar Design Manager 

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Solar Design Engineer/Manager to join our team. As a Solar Design Engineer/ Manager at Staten, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of solar energy projects in the USA and India. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring they meet performance, efficiency, and safety standards. Your innovative thinking and technical expertise will contribute to the success of our mission to accelerate the adoption of solar energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solar System Design: Design and engineer solar PV systems for commercial, industrial and utility-scale projects, considering factors such as site conditions, energy requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Site Assessment: Conduct site visits and assessments to gather essential data, including solar irradiance, shading analysis, and structural integrity, to inform system design.
  • Technical Analysis: Perform detailed technical and financial analysis, including energy yield simulations, to determine the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of solar projects.
  • Compliance and Permits: Ensure that solar projects comply with local regulations, building codes, and permitting requirements. Assist in obtaining necessary permits.
  • Component Selection: Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and other components for each project while considering performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • System Optimization: Continuously optimize system designs to maximize energy production and system efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation to facilitate project implementation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, project management, and installation teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and safety of solar installations.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar energy design and engineering.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of ETB (Energy toolbase).
  • Good Knowledge of NEC (National electric code).
  • Proficiency in solar design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of solar energy principles, photovoltaic technologies, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes related to solar installations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
