Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Manager / Sales Engineer (Solar) to lead bid preparation efforts for solar projects in California, USA. You will be responsible for researching and analyzing bid opportunities (RFPs), summarizing key technical and commercial requirements, and preparing winning proposals. A strong understanding of Sales, Bidding, System Sizing, energy yield assessments, interpret meter data & SLDs is essential, along with the ability to create these documents when needed. You will collaborate with various departments to prepare the winning proposal from scratch and report directly to the AGM β Business Development. Bids may originate from both private and public entities.
Work Environment:

Qualifications & Experience:
- BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Solar Sales & Bidding.
- MBA in Sales/Marketing is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Energy & Renewable sector, ideally with Design, Sales, Bidding & Commercial aspects in EPC projects.
Required Skills & Expertise:
β Solar & Storage Industry Knowledge β Strong understanding of technical and commercial aspects, including the latest technologies and pricing trends (California market experience preferred).
β Proposal & Bid Preparation β Ability to process and distil complex RFP documents into clear, compelling proposals.
β Technical Skills β Proficiency in System Sizing, conduct energy load assessments, energy yield assessments, interpret meter data,
β Tools β AutoCAD, PVSyst, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Expert-level command of MS Excel for financial modelling, scenario planning, and what-if analysis.
β Communication & Persuasion β Exceptional American English writing and speaking skills, with world-class persuasion and copywriting abilities.
βClient Engagement & Presentations β Experience in pitching to clients, handling objections, and making impactful presentations.
β Independence & Accountability β While support will be available from engineering, procurement, and project management teams, you must be capable of independently preparing and submitting bids.
β Stay updated on renewable energy advancements, energy market trends, and policy changes to enhance project profitability.
β Support the complete contracting process, including tenders and early works packages.
Compensation:
Competitive base salary + commission per deal won. For the right candidate, compensation will not be a barrier.
